About Cohiba Robustos
Established August 2013
While holding your cigar and enjoying its magical taste and aroma, have
you ever thought about its origin? To reach the roots of the story, the
processes should be chased right from the beginning. The lands of Cuba
are blessed with all the natural conditions necessary to yield a
fine-quality tobacco. The weather as well as the humidity plays a major
role in creating ideal conditions. Moreover, the chemical composition of
the soil is very much perfect for the growth of a fine tobacco
plantation. The finest of all the lands is Veulta Abajo, a Cuban valley
responsible for the premium quality tobacco
production. The tobacco seedlings are initially grown in green houses
and soon after they achieve a certain age and size, the experts
carefully plant them in the land. The seedlings are then allowed to grow
stronger and take a good grip of the soil. Approximately, 40-45 days
are required for the conversion of a seedling into a fully grown plant.
The tobacco blades expand and attain their maximum size. The top most
leaves of a plant are the most precious as they receive maximum natural
light and have the premium taste. The leaves are plucked carefully by
the expert farm workers who are mostly young women.
