Due to a loophole in the current EU Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009, individual eyelash adhesives do not have to be cosmetically approved. As a result, many of the individual eyelash adhesives on the market are industrial grade ethyl cyanoacrylates (or superglues) that would not conform to the latest cosmetic regulation requirements.
Chemence Cosmetics’ individual, professional eyelash adhesives have been developed from our medical adhesive range and are based on a variation of superglue known as butyl cyanoacrylate. This type of adhesive is widely used as a skin wound adhesive and can be found in the A&E Departments of most major hospitals throughout Europe.
