Goodbye, and welcome to the ever so slightly bonkers world of Mr Banana Head, the ridiculously silly and occasionally odd children’s entertainer.

My parties and shows have a mixture of Mango the Monkey, very silly and average magic, games, music, dancing and bubbles, all complete with gibbon-like behaviour throughout.

I dance like a confused baboon on roller skates and sing like a juggling gazelle. It’s not clever, it’s not pretty, but the children might laugh so much their heads fall off. Please note this is not guaranteed so you don’t need to worry unduly. Thank you and hello Grandma.

Mr Banana Head was the best decision of our daughters 6th birthday party! He held the attention of twenty 5 and 6 year olds (and their parents) for the duration of his visit and had them in stitches for most of it! We were lucky to have Mr Banana Head at my daughter’s birthday party. With his signature brand of silliness he managed to keep a class of rowdy seven year olds enraptured for two hours – it was quite remarkable to see them all spellbound! He was great to work with; saving his silliness for the party and being very professional in his prep! Thank you Mr Banana Head for a super fun party for the kids and for taking all the stress out of it for me!ou for entertaining our 5 year olds so well. One mum mentioned she hadn’t seen her daughter laugh or smile so much in years! The birthday boy and girl both felt totally special and the adults even enjoyed it too! Mr Banana Head was such a hit with our 4 year old and friends! He’s a total professional – responsive and efficient in advance which made the party planning much less stressful and he did his homework so there were personal touches incorporated into the party. The children laughed so much, which was such a delight to see and they were really captivated by Mr Banana Head from start to finish. A great entertainer.

Thank you so much for making Louis’s 6th birthday party such a huge success. After the last few years, there was nothing better than seeing him and all his friends roaring with laughter and having an absolute ball together. All the kids there, who ranged in age from 18mo to 8 years, loved the magic, fun and silliness and you kept every single one of them entertained from the minute they arrived to the minute they left. And Louis can’t get over what a coincidence it is that your favourite film is also Home Alone! Thank you, Mr Banana Head (and, of course, Mango) for another fantastic party!

Hi Mr Banana Head, thanks so much for a great birthday party! Zara and Asha really enjoyed themselves, as did all their friends and even Zara’s brother Oscar, who made a point of saying what a great show you put on (and he is not easily impressed at almost 8). Zara was particularly thrilled when you played a song by her favourite artist David Gibb, and it was that kind of care and attention to detail that made the day really special for her. All the parents loved it too and said how much they enjoyed the show on an adult level. The outfits for the monkey race game was a particular highlight for us all and I personally was very sad to have to return mine. Thanks again for putting in so much effort to make their day special. It really was a lot of fun for us all.

Thank you very much for entertaining Alex and his friends at his 5^th party at the weekend. I noticed how special it was that you took the time to meet Alex as a priority and make him feel comfortable and connect with you. Thank you for taking the time to make his personal certificate, very thoughtful and a lovely touch and for getting deep down with kids when you did the bubble gun right in the middle of them. Many would have stood at the front and just pushed the bubbles out. Also noticed how when a child gave a strange answer you worked with it and didn’t make them feel small eg. “I’ve forgotten.” “Yes, that could be something…” ! You have the ‘magic’ touch with them, it’s fab. Alex said can I have an entertainer at my next party and have Mr Banana Head again!

breaking and exciting news

I’m proud, humbled and slightly delirious to tell you that I’ve been named the Raring2Go Party Entertainer of the Year for 2019. There was a posh dinner and everything, it was very exciting. I’d like to thank every single person and llama that voted for me and I’m giving you all a virtual high five. Llamas get a thumbs up as high fives are tricky for them.

A while ago before electricity, America and Kate Bush were discovered, I was crowned the Watford Association of Magicians Children’s Entertainer of the Year. I was then invited along to the Blackpool Magic Convention where I competed along with five others for the title of UK Children’s Entertainer of the Year. You can read a lovely article about the win and see me grinning like a slightly confused hyena here.

I’d like to tell you about my greatest achievement since I came 7th in a Mr Banana Head lookalike contest. I was named runner-up for the East of England in the Netmums awards to find your favourite children’s entertainer. I haven’t let this go to my head but I do now require a dressing room at all parties complete with dancing baboons.

I’d like to recommend one of my favourite films that you can watch together with your children any day of the week. It’s called Goodfellas and includes a stunning Oscar winning performance from Joe Pesci. Due to it being extremely sweary, violent and altogether inappropriate for anyone under 18, if your children are under this age they must be fast asleep when you watch it together.
